Bessie Smith, Etta James, Howlin Wolf and Janis Joplin were my main influences. But to tell you the truth i am not a clone of either of them, i am now 50 years old, i have a life behind me, good and bad experiences, good and bad relationships and this is what you will feel in my voice.
But another important influence is the british white blues, John Mayall, the yadbirds etc, i was lucky to be born during that period!
That is why during the years, i was sometimes a blues singer and sometimes a rock singer but you can not sing anything without having the blues...
Mainly my gigs were in Montreal, Canada but i had the chance to sing in Paris where i discovered the tremendous respect the french peoples have for the artists. As a matter of fact, this is the only time i really made money as an artist ( i mean profit) and now that i have experience i certainly know how to make a tour in France ( hey! Good wine, good food, and other hot stuff).
In Paris where we stayed for two weeks, we played for an anti-nuclear association " l'appel des cents" in front of Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral, we were lucky, the "gendarmes" were on our side because the manager had a permit.
I am now living in Brooklyn where i have a few good friends, and i am preparing a studio session in New York with my musicians but also with new musicians (my ex musicians live in Canada).
